What state do you live in?  Your caterpillars could possibly be &quot;Eastern&quot; Tiger Swallowtails, but we would need to more about the &quot;lavender tree&quot; you said they were eating.</description>

		<description>I found 4 of these guys yesterday eating my lavender tree leaves. I have one to a friend and the other 3 loose in a big pile of leaves away from my tree. Are these caterpillars with painted eyes  Western Tiger Swallowtail butterflies?  Just curious &amp; couldn&#039;t destroy because they were so cute!</description>
