Hi Glenn,

Glad you liked the post. I love to photograph butterflies at every stage also! I have never tried the time lapse technique, however, I checked out your website and it looks very cool!

The Pale Swallowtail is doing fine, just munching away at the coffeeberry leaves at his leisure (very slow eater). He has just begun to turn green and I expect that with his next molting he will be entirely so. Will post an update soon with pics.

Thanks for sharing your animations!! Look forward to seeing your new site in the fall!!

Sincerely,

Kristen

Kristen,

The life cycle is great to see.

This is the type of photography I like to do. Have you ever tried time lapse of a buttrefly emerging? If you can get the shots then you can created an animated *.gif and post it on a website...then see the butterfly emerging.

The are a small animations at http://members.porchlight.ca/richard/ under "View Animations" but this website was designed for smaller computer monitor resolutions, and I am going to build a new one in September.

PS what ever happened to the Pale Tiger Swallowtail caterpiller that hatched.

Regards,
